The California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is administered by the California Student Aid Commision (CSAC). Individual projects apply each year for continued state funding. State funding must be matched by an equal or higher level of matching resources by consortium member.
The Mission of the South County Cal-SOAP Consortium is to provide access to low-income and first-generation students who have the potential to succeed in post-secondary education. Cal-SOAP is committed to advising, informing and exposing students and their parents to post-secondary opportunities and resources.
Together, with our sponsors and the staff members of four school districts (ASJUSD, GUSD, MHUSD, & SBHSD) South County Cal-SOAP is proud to report an 91% college going rate!!
After School & In-Class Tutoring, Financial Aid Education, Academic & General Counseling is provided by our staff for over 10,000 students and parents in the South County region!
Staff Mission: At South County Cal-SOAP, we are committed and motivated to educating and broadening student and family perspectives, through support and guidance, in order to build a bridge for post-secondary opportunities.
We are an outreach program run by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC).
