There are many career resources dedicated to helping you plan your future. Explore them all to ensure you have a competitive edge. Below are some resources you can utilize at little or no expense.
College and/or Career centers
Your college and/or career center is a resource waiting to be used. Centers generally
offer a variety of services and resources at no cost, even after you graduate,
which include:
Job Fairs
Campus-sponsored job fairs are ideal for college students because they are
convenient, the companies are familiar with the college, and because they
actively recruit prospective graduates. Campus career days are also convenient
for students; however, they are not geared towards recruiting. Nevertheless,
it's a good time to meet companies and learn about what they do. Commercial
job fairs are hosted at independent locations, attract several hundred people
and cater to a wide range of professional occupations.
The Internet
The Internet is your source of online articles, magazines and sites dedicated
to job searching, relocation, resume writing and posting. You'll discover
