College Success Coaches

South County Cal-SOAP (SCCC) provides high schools and middle schools within our consortium on-site College Success Coaches for 1 on 1 assistance, to provide in class and after school academic mentoring and college & career advising. 

Our staff are paired with a credentialed teacher in order to provide academic mentoring for students in class, while also providing college and career presentations within the classroom. The after school academic mentoring program is a “drop-in” model in which students are not assigned to College Success Coaches but are able to receive our services if they choose to do so. 

Additionally, our Cal-SOAP College Success Coaches offer one-on-one assistance for our high school students with their College and Financial Aid applications. Students who apply and are accepted into the Program are assigned to a College Success Coach who will provide college and career awareness, grade checks, financial aid, and Transcript/A-G Requirements are reviewed on a monthly basis. 

One to three College Success Coaches are assigned per high school and middle school for the purpose of frequent check-ins with our students.
